Alfresco Art at North Down Museum: Maker Demonstrations
About the event
Be inspired as you watch the artists and makers at work in the Courtyard of North Down Museum.
Take this unique opportunity to interact with Artists and Makers who will be providing free demonstrations throughout the afternoon and some hands-on activity to try yourself.
You can also explore the collection at North Down Museum, visit the Creative Peninsula exhibition and enjoy a coffee at Coffee Cure!

Adele Pound

Making Paper Birds Cutting and assembling paper birds. Adele will demonstrate making one or more of my designs. Adele will also have some free kits for people to colour, cut out and make either on the day, or to take away with them. |
Rosy Ennis
12-2pm |
Printed People Rosie will demonstrate how to print different coloured textures onto card shapes and also decorate them with some rubber stamp blocks. This is a fun print activity for all ages! |
We Yarn Designs
12-2PM |
Dorset Button Making Debbie will demonstrate how to make a Dorset cross wheel button and talk about the history of this fascinating heritage craft. Visitors will have an opportunity to make a button to take home. A range of Dorset buttons, jewellery and kits will be on display and can be purchased. |
Alison Hanvey 1-3pm |
Ceramic Bird Baths Alison will be cutting and shaping hand thrown pieces to make decorative flower-inspired bird baths. |
Simply Spun
1-3PM |
Wool Spinning From fleece to finished yarn. Rosemary will demonstrate fibre preparation with carders and spinning these fibres into a continuous yarn. Examples of how she uses the yarn will be on display. |
Ellen Cunningham 2-4pm |
Fun with Bubbles and Glaze Create a bubble glaze and demonstrate how to do this and add bubbles to bisque work. Show finished products of the results. Fun demonstration. |
Joel Smyth
2-4pm |
Silver Jewellery Techniques Joel will be demonstrating the making of his unique jewellery, with traditional jewellery techniques, processes and stone setting, with a small jewellery display alongside that can be purchased. |
Sarah Majury
2-4pm |
Mixed Media Alla Prima Painting From initial sketch to finished painting, Sarah will demonstrate how she uses a mix of oil, paint and pastels to create nature portraits.
