As part of the America250 celebrations too, NI Silver are offering a 1776 ring making workshop where guests can come to create their heritage memory ring. It’s perfect for those who are into history and ancestry as they will hear stories of Ulster Scots/Scots Irish who left our shores to set up home in the United States. As part of this workshop, we have some specially curated Paula McIntyre/NI Silver cocktails and mocktails, using whiskey from our friends at McConnell’s and Strangford Lough alcohol free gin, so something for everyone, even if you’re driving!
So we would encourage anyone who to step away from modern consumption for a bit and enter the ancient and magical art of smithing. It’s totally immersive, so no time to think about the stresses of life, and no experience is necessary as award winning goldsmith Ruth McEwan-Lyon will lead you step by step through the traditional techniques of jewellery making. Feel the warmth of the torch flame, hear the sounds of the hammers and feel the resonance of the stamping on the mandrel and the whirr of the polishing machine in your hand to create your very own jewellery piece; which incidentally you will leave with after the workshop. Workshops are just for one group, not mixed, so bespoke and guaranteed private expert tuition and personal attention. What’s not to like.
