Spend a day in the forest as a pair of emerging woodworkers building your first bench together. Each team will be guided through the process of construction and necessary tools.
Local douglas fir is the tree species of choice. We will have time to sit around the fire and discuss different aspects of the way the woodland is managed and how it affects our decisions. Also we will go for a walk finding out different aspects of the flora a fauna and the woodland system as a whole.
While it is a collaborative endeavour the adult is in full charge and responsibility of their children.
The group will be limited to 4 pairs of participants.
At the end of the day you will have a handcrafted locally made bench to sit down and ponder, chat and remember for generations. There will be lots of hands on experience with a variety of tools and assisted by James’s experience and guidance.
This particular course is intended for children between the ages of 8 and 18.
