Sarah Lyons graduated from Manchester Metropolitan University with a first class honours degree in 3D Design Craft. She offer classes or up to 4 people in both ceramics and silver jewellery (from April to September) Her studio is based near Louisburgh Co. Mayo and has views of Croagh Patrick.

“I enjoyed making silver jewellery as a hobby for years and a friend persuaded me when I was 50 to go to University and do a degree in 3D Design. I had worked as an accountant for over 30 years and believed I had no artistic abilities. I fell in love with ceramics and found myself torn between metal and clay. While doing my degree I developed my own peat ash glaze using the Mayo turf ash from the stove and I love the combination of this with a shiny white glaze. I recycle silver and love using old copper pipes to make little boxes to contain treasures. When I was a student I rummaged through the 3D print bins and designed my jewellery using the 3D print waste.”
