Open Day at the Glenn Lucas Woodturning Study Centre

Featured Image

Glenn Lucas has an international reputation for his proficiency at the lathe and his ability to pass on to students, the skills and knowledge he has gained. He balances his production of classic bowls turned from native Irish wood (set up in 1995), with an extensive teaching programme run from his County Carlow ‘Woodturning Study Centre’ (since 2005) in rural south-east Ireland.

The 2026 Recipients of the Scholarships are Søren Leegaard Fuhlendorff (Denmark) and Kevin Jesequel (Pacific Northwest, USA).

Meet the Maker/Open Day : we hope that you can come to the workshop and meet the turners and see a small selection of their work,  on Sat 8th August 2026, from 2.30-5.30pm.

We are situated in a very rural part of south east Ireland, near the villages of Borris and Bagenalstown, only 90 mins drive from Dublin airport.
