The Mini Festival of Calligraphy will showcase our calligraphic work and give participants the opportunity to take part in some practical demonstrations.
Anyone with an interest in calligraphy can attend irrespective of their knowledge or skill level.
Our aim is to promote calligraphy as a multidisciplinary art and craft form which allows practitioners to use materials, tools, letter forms and colours to communicate ideas and feelings.
Calligraphy has been executed in Ireland since the 5th century, and has produced beautiful works from the Book of Kells to that of the modern Irish calligraphers.
In Peannairi we run regular classes for beginner and improving calligraphers. We also run Saturday workshops, and Zoom sessions throughout the year on more specialized topics including bookbinding and gilding.
