This workshop is an introduction to using Silver Clay. The workshop covers various stages from designing a piece, through textures, shaping and preparing for firing, to using a blowtorch and finishing each to a wearable jewellery item!
Silver clay was developed in Japan to recycle silver particles and has become a popular jewellery medium. You will be amazed by what you can create, even if you have little or no experience with jewellery, clay or crafts. It is easy to work with, and with the tools in the workshop and guidance by Grainne you will make something unique and personal to you.
Participants usually complete at least 1 finished piece with 7g silver clay-a pair of earrings or a pendant and charm for example- during the 2-3 hour workshop. The finished pieces are fine 99% silver.
