‘From Cushendall to Islandmagee’: A Craft Trail through County Antrim

Featured Image

Paul Jordan Ceramics, Open Studio

Paul is holding an ‘Open Studio Day’ at his studio in Randalstown, onSaturday 1st August, as part of a craft trail, ‘From Cushendall to Islandmagee’ organised byCounty Antrim Open Studios (CAOS). The trail takes the visitor to studios and workshops ineight different locations across the county to view sculpture, ceramics, jewellery, furniture, handmade books, textile art and original artwork and prints.

Paul lives close to the picturesque shores of Lough Neagh. His painting, drawing and ceramic sculpture reflects his personal reaction to both the urban and rural landscapes. His work isinspired equally by the character of an old building as with the contemplative quality andsolitude of a quiet Irish bogland. Although often working in an abstract way, Paul’s more figurative work is creative and has a lyrical style which is contemporary and colourful. Paul has exhibited at the Royal Ulster Academy as well as the Oriel Gallery in Antrim, TheFlowerfield Arts Centre in Portstewart and the Flax Gallery, Belfast
