Come and participate in a behind the scenes tour of PRONI which will include visiting the conservation studio. Learn from conservators about the techniques used and skills required to repair and stabilise the original records held at Northern Ireland’s official archive.
Examples of medieval paper (thought to be the earliest paper document in Ireland) and parchment will be on display which have been consolidated through conservation treatments along with newer documents which form part of Northern Ireland’s historical record.
