Carving stones to make into jewellery
The stone carving and jewellery studio will be open to visitors on Friday 8th August and Saturday 9th August from 10.00am – 4.00pm. The process of taking a piece of rough semi precious stone and carving and drilling it into a unique form suitable for jewellery will be demonstrated by Alistair. There will also be a large display of carved stones and finished pieces of jewellery. The event will be run on a booking basis to allow visitors a relaxed and personal experience and, as the lapidary workshop is quite narrow, a full view of the process. Visitors are welcome to bring a piece of stone of their own if they wish which can be worked on or drilled if feasible as part of the demonstration.

There is ample parking for visitors on site. The studio is accessed by way of a narrow returning set of stairs and there is no wheelchair access. Toilets are located beside the studio.
