Series Overview
Botanical Impressions is a series of hands-on workshops exploring the colours, textures, and image-making possibilities found in plants. Drawing inspiration from traditional craft practices, printmaking, natural dyeing, and early photographic processes, these sessions invite participants to discover how leaves, flowers, roots, berries, and sunlight can become tools for creative expression.
Whether you’re an artist, gardener, maker, or simply curious about working with natural materials, these workshops offer an opportunity to slow down, observe closely, and experiment with the colours, patterns, and forms found in the natural world.
All materials are provided, and we’ll pause mid-morning for tea, coffee, and homemade scones.
Workshops run from 10.00am to 1.00pm on Thursday and Saturday mornings.
No previous experience is required. Unsuitable for under 16 years old.
Explore the textures, forms, and patterns of plants through monoprinting.
Using leaves, grasses, flowers, and other botanical materials, participants will create a series of unique prints that celebrate the beauty of natural forms. This playful and experimental workshop encourages observation, composition, and creative mark-making while introducing simple monoprinting techniques suitable for all skill levels.
Each participant will produce a collection of one-of-a-kind botanical prints.
