2 Day Hands On Ceramics Workshop with Maria Dondero – USA

In this two day workshop making functional pots, Maria will share her love of clay and design. ‘We will start with loose hand-built forms, leaving many traces of the process to be revealed in the finished piece, and then work through to surface design or the decision to leave the surface open; letting the kiln grace the pots with its magic. All these moments and choices along the way create a unique voice.’

Day one, we will hand build using coils, pinch, slabs and bisq formers to make pots, adding handles and cutting feet. At end of the day adding slip to the pieces for the next day’s surface design.

Day two will be about decorating the pots, building up layers of interest, scrafitto and underglaze / stain applications. We will discuss inspiration for imagery and work on fresh expressions, encouraging participants to think about cultivating their own unique style.

All skill levels are welcome
