Shanagarry Design Center Open Studios
Come along to the Shanagarry Design Center Open Studio taking place on Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th August.
During both of the open days the Design Centre will have taster sessions available for visitors to try! This will include pottery making, painting, letterpress and screen printing, and of course Meet the Maker.
An exhibition of the resident artists will also be on display during the month of August, so make sure to pop by!
Our resistant artists are Stable Door Pottery, Phil Davis Artist, Belinda Northcote Design, Paper Love and Balllycotton 1851. Children are also very welcome to part take.
This event will be free of charge.
About the makers:
Orla O’Rourke is a ceramic artist and founder of Stable Door Pottery. Based in the heart of East Cork’s renowned pottery region, Stable Door Pottery offers an unique hands-on experience for beginners and enthusiasts alike. Orla’s ceramic work has been inspired by the vibrant landscape, flora, fauna,
and rustic charm or rural Ireland. Her collections are known for their bold use of colour, natural textures, and thoughful craftsmanship, often incorporating hessian fabrics and hand-sculpted details.
Phil & Imelda – Artists in Shanagarry, Phil Davis and Imelda Duhig-Budden, two self-taught artists based in Studio 2 at the Shanagarry Design Centre in East Cork.
Ballycotton 1851 and Áine O’Keeffe specialise in soulful paintings and prints inspired by sea, sky, the human form and the quiet magic of home and locally embroidered coastal wear.
