Ceramic Masks Workshop

We invite you to an enriching and creative Ceramic Mask Workshop, where tradition and self-expression come together in a warm and inspiring setting. This five-hour workshop offers participants the opportunity to create their own unique ceramic mask guided by Adriana y Julio from Gato Thor Ceramica. We will have small breaks during the workshop to try our peruvian finger foods made by Fineperuvianpastries.

Drawing inspiration from Pre-Columbian ceramic traditions—particularly those of ancient Peruvian cultures such as the Moche and Nazca—we will explore traditional forms, motifs, and surface decoration techniques. Participants are welcome to incorporate these historical influences or follow their own freestyle artistic vision. No prior experience with ceramics is necessary.

We will work with a special clay and decorate the masks using our engobes—ceramic-colored slips specially made using our own recipe. Each piece will undergo a professional finishing process, including slow drying, bisque firing at 950°C, glazing, and glaze firing at 1225°C. Finished masks will be ready for collection within 3–4 weeks of the event.

The workshop includes:

• Peruvian finger foods;
  • All tools, materials, clay, engobes, and decorative elements;
  • Full post-workshop processing: drying, bisque firing, glazing, and glaze firing;
  • And a special gift from Studio Gato Thor Ceramica.
