The Black Sheep Festival

The Shaking Bog, Where Art & Nature Meet, presents Black Sheep – a day of immersion in all things woolly.
From sheep to fleece, from carding to spinning, from knitting to felting, this unique event invites people to see, learn and experience this precious living heritage. Artists Sharon Wells and Caroline Byrne will lead a day of creative engagement that will include an exhibition, storytelling, talks, demonstrations and crafting.
10am-10.45am   From Fleece to Yarn – Demonstration
10.45-11.30pm   Meet the Farmers
12.00-12.30pm  Wool and Bog Restoration – talk with Lorna Kelly (Wicklow    Uplands Council)
12.30-2pm           Experimenting with Wool – wool crafts workshop
2.00-2.30pm      Spinning the Yarn – collective hand spinning to close the day
