Botanical Impressions Workshop 2: Monoprinting with Plants

Botanical Impressions is a series of creative workshops exploring the colours, textures, and image-making possibilities found in plants. Drawing inspiration from traditional craft practices, printmaking, natural dyeing, and early photographic processes, these hands-on sessions invite participants to slow down, observe closely, and experiment with materials gathered from the natural world.

Whether you’re an artist, gardener, maker, or simply curBotanical Impressions Workshop 2: Monoprinting with Plantsious about creative processes, these workshops offer an opportunity to discover how plants can become sources of colour, pattern, and artistic expression.

All materials are provided, and we’ll pause mid-morning for tea, coffee, and homemade scones.

Workshops run from 10.00am – 1.00pm on Thursday and Saturday mornings.

No previous experience is required.

Botanical Impressions Workshop 2: Monoprinting with Plants

Explore the shapes, textures, and patterns of the natural world through the expressive process of monoprinting.

Using leaves, grasses, flowers, and other botanical materials, you’ll create a series of unique prints that capture the character and beauty of plants in unexpected ways. This playful workshop encourages experimentation and observation while introducing simple printmaking techniques suitable for beginners and experienced makers alike.

This workshop includes:

• An introduction to monoprinting techniques using botanical materials.
• Demonstrations of composition, layering, and mark-making.
• Time to experiment with a variety of plants and printing methods.
• Creation of a collection of one-of-a-kind botanical prints.
• Guidance on developing your own ideas and compositions.
