Judith Logan Artist, Open Studio
Judith is holding an ‘Open Studio Day’ at her studio in Broughshane, onSaturday 1st August, as part of a craft trail, ‘From Cushendall to Islandmagee’ organised by County Antrim Open Studios (CAOS). The trail takes the visitor to studios and workshops in eight different locations across the county to view sculpture, ceramics, jewellery, furniture, handmade books, textile art and original artwork and prints.
As a visual artist working in several media, Judith will be showcasing her original paintings, drawings, and handmade prints. Interested visitors may have the chance to see a little of the working processes behind some of the printmaking methods she uses, mainly collagraph, drypoint, and monoprint, with the possibility of having a go firsthand at making a simple monoprint themselves using a gelliplate.
Her home studio is a converted barn, which she shares with her photographer and videographer husband Hernan, of HFPhotography, who will also have some of his photographs for sale on the day. They have ample on site parking, and there will be tea/coffee and homebakes for the hungry visitor too.
Her studio is easy to find, just a few miles up the Knockan Road outside of Broughshane village, with a sign at the end of their lane which says “BlackSheep Gallery.”
