Learn how to bind a notebook at the Public Record Office of Northern Ireland (PRONI). Participants will sew folded sections onto linen tapes to make a text block. This will then be encased in boards covered with a beautiful decorative paper. The workshop will take place in the conservation studio where participants can learn more about the practice and ethics of repairing Northern Ireland’s original, written heritage.
The session will be led by an accredited book conservator who works with PRONI’s collections from medieval registers to modern stationary bindings.
