About the event
The Blackwater Valley Makers will celebrate five years in Fermoy during Cork Craft Month with their main event “In The Making”
A unique opportunity to meet the makers and enjoy demonstrations from makers of diverse disciplines. Pop in for a chat and a bit of insight as to how these talented makers produce their skilled works.
Demos on the day:
The Wild Felter, “watch as Molly teases character and detail in place with fibres to create an original piece. Discussing choice of colour textures and form to create a sense of the wild creatures she creates in wool.”
Pat Murphy, CK53 Design, wood worker and designer, is inviting people to bring in their favourite wooden chopping boards where he will sand them and apply a fresh coat of beeswax polish on them.
John O Shea, will do a woodturning demonstration on his lathe, showing the process involved in producing a beautiful and functional bowl made from native Irish wood.
Siobhain Steele, will give an informal demo of her slip casting techniques using plaster moulds and explain her ceramics process
Suzanne O Sullivan, glass artist, will give a demonstration on printing and creating images on recycled glass to create sustainable and unique works of art.
