Day of demonstrations including Mosaic, Eco-Printing and Felting.
Demonstration and Meet the Maker, Deborah Birmingham, a mosaicist from Cahersiveen, Kerry. Deborah has been crafting mosaics for 17 years, and trained in Italy. She will be demonstrating both the traditional and modern methods of mosaic, talking through tools, materials, design and installation. 10am – 12.30pm
Demonstration and Meet the Maker, Maureen Shean, textile craftsperson from Valentia Island, Kerry. Maureen will be demonstrating and talking through the processes of eco printing and felting using sustainable and local materials. 2pm -4.30pm

Maureen Shean experiments and works with eco printing and felting, using natural flora, fauna and recycled materials from her local environment on Valentia Island, Kerry. She is a former science teacher, so experimenting is part of the process for her design work.
Deborah Birmingham learned the craft of mosaic in Italy with the traditional hammer and hardie, has completed commissions, including shop signage and bespoke, abstract wall mosaics. She works with marble, ceramic, glass, slate, stone and Venetian Smalti glass
