Bookmaking Workshop
About the event
Create your own hand made books suitable for sketchbooks, journals or photo-albums. No prior bookbinding experience is necessary for this workshop.
Learn how to create simple stitched pamphlet style notebooks. These are small, easy to make and can be carried around in your pocket or bag. Then take your bookbinding skills a step further and create two Japanese style bound books using the traditional binding techniques of four-hole or tortoiseshell stitch. These books will have soft covers and can be made using good quality, decorative or patterned papers.
All materials for creating the books will be provided including a range of papers for covers and threads for binding. Participants may wish to bring along their own papers or artwork or threads and if suitable these could be incorporated into their book-making.
