Gaia Heritage Crafts Workshop Open Day
Craft workshop open day taking place on Saturday 10th August from 10am-5.00pm.
This workshop/open studio day will focus on heritage crafts, including craft talks, demonstrations, meet the maker and make and do activities! Participating makers Tom Campbell, Gavin Campbell, (Co. Tyrone) Willie Creighton (C0. Mayo), John Nesbit (Co. Derry).
As a heritage craft workshop we will demonstrate, woodturning (on a machine lathe), wood carving and green woodworking (on a pole lathe), alongside blacksmithing techniques. Traditional Irish music will be played live throughout the day.
The woodturning and blacksmithing demonstrations will be indoors while the green wood activities will be outdoors all from our workshop in Sion Mills.
The open day will be accessible to everyone young and old with make and do activities available for individuals and families throughout the day.
