Come along to an exciting new solo exhibition at PRONI, “The Mapping of Past and Present”
Eve Davidson, a recent University of Ulster and Belfast School of Art textile graduate, draws inspiration from her local landscape. Influenced by a passion for weave and a love of history, her interactive handwoven series of artworks showcases gradual changes over time in various locations across Newtownards. Meticulous overlays of O.S. maps reference individual locations to reveal glimpses of past and present, inviting the viewer to look through the lens of an artist who delicately captures a beautiful narrative of change and time.
Described as “An ethereal, sensitive reflection – a handwoven homage to the past and a nod to the ever changing”, this exhibition is free to access at PRONI and is available on display until the 31st of August!
Please note PRONI is open Monday-Friday, 9am-4.45pm, Open on Thursdays from 10am-4.45pm.
