Film launch: ‘Brian Lalor in conversation with Angela Brady’
Video to be launched at a special reception on 22 August at 2pm.
Brian was a major instigator of the West Cork Craft movement from the 1960’s to present day. This short film will also come to China in October with us for the culture and craft show. This will be 10 hands crafts main August Craft month event focusing on one of our key members since we set up in 2015
Brian Lalor ‘Retrospective exhibition’ in West Cork Arts Centre in Skibbereen.
The exhibition on two floors of the Uillinn building will show a wide selection of Lalor’s prints, drawings, publications, watercolours and ceramics created over a fifty-year period, including work from exhibitions in Ireland, the United States, Europe and the Middle East. A substantial and very well illustrated catalogue will contain critical essays on the artist’s work by Professor Angela Griffith of TCD, Anne Hodge, Curator of Prints & Drawings at the National Gallery, as well as an extensive interview by curator and art historian Vera Ryan, concluding with an afterword by the artist.
This 10HandsCrafts event is part-funded by Design & Crafts Council Ireland for August Craft Month 2024.
