Local Textiles for Local Communities
As part of Fibreshed Ireland’s work, they aim to facilitate the creation of self-directed local hubs for skill sharing and the promotion of sustainable textile crafts. This event will mark the beginning of local hubs which will support this ongoing work.
The event will consist of traditional craft demonstrations such as hand carding, hand spinning and weaving. Also featured will be skill sharing, talks by local crafters, open discussions with the public, and a showcase of the locally available materials that can be used in textile craft.
This event is part-funded by Design & Crafts Council Ireland for August Craft Month 2024.
