How to use local wool for crafts or gardens Cahersiveen Music and Arts Festival Event

Featured Image

During this workshop with Sharon Wells, we will discuss where to get wool, how to wash it and prepare it for various crafts like felting and spinning. We will go through the skirting process briefly and learn to identify what is useful.

We will also discuss other uses for discarded wool  for example: in gardens – flower beds, hanging baskets etc.

You will get to see and feel different wool types and see lots of creations Sharon has made from wool including items made from wet felting, needle felting, coiling, peg loom weaving, loom knitting.

This event is suitable for anyone interested in promoting the use of wool in Ireland, anyone interested in using wool for crafting, farmers hoping to make contact with crafters and gardeners and crafters wanting to make contact with farmers.  And anyone looking to get inspired to take up a new craft!
