Felt and Stitch; Create a wool painting using the techniques of Needle Felting and Hand Embroidery with Emily Thompson
In this two part workshop, needle felting Artist, Emily Thompson will teach the unique approach of needle felting and embroidery in order to create a finished ‘textile painting’. In the first part of this workshop, you will learn the tips and tricks of needle felting. Emily will introduce the materials, teach the technique of needle felting, and support everyone to recreate one of her ‘wool paintings’. After an hour break for lunch, you will return for part two. In the second session, you will learn several embroidery stitches in order to add greater depth and detail to your ‘felted paintings’. By the end of the day, you will leave with your own piece, and several new skills.
