At Sidereus, we design and hand-build watches with a unique Irish and horological backstory. Our inaugural collection of watches was inspired by, and named after, the three magnificent Neolithic structures found at Brú na Bóinne. Our watches celebrate the origins of horology and the marking of time in Ireland for over 5,000 years.
Exploring the Craft of Horology will showcase production timepieces alongside early design studies and design iterations, offering a rare glimpse into the design process behind creating a crafted timepiece. A series of information panels provide the backstory and design features inherent in the watch collection.
Attendees will have the opportunity to explore the creative evolution of each piece, from initial sketches, 3D Solid Modelling, 3D printed form studies, initial working prototypes to the final production pieces. Through this exhibition, we aim to demystify the creativity, innovation and craftmanship that goes into every stage of the development of a limited-edition timepiece.
Whether you’re a watch aficionado, a design enthusiast or simply curious about craft, the exhibition promises to inspire and educate. Come and witness the transformation of an abstract idea into tangible product, and gain a deeper appreciation for the artistry and craft involved in the design of our timepieces.
Exhibition, open studio and demonstrations open Friday, Saturday and Sunday from Sunday the 28th July through to Sunday the 1st September. Other times by prior appointment.
