A collaborative workshop with textile artist and printmaker Ruth Osborne and ceramicists Rebecca Killen and Laureanne Kootstra (The Clay Project).
The Clay Project’s workshop will begin with a walk to the forest at the foot of the Slieve Donard where participants will responsibly collect leaves and flowers to inform your work throughout the workshop.
In Ruth’s workshop you will use a range of natural dye inks, printing blocks and nature printing techniques that explore natural colour and mark making on Irish linen. During the session you will create a beautiful votive tealight holder using your prints.
The Clay Project will then guide you through the process of exploring texture and colour on porcelain using your foraged flora to create 2 pieces of ceramic art.
Enjoy stunning sea views while you work and break for a delicious vegetarian Birch Coffee lunch (please let us know if you have any dietary requirements).
We will glaze and fire your porcelain pieces ready to be collected from The Clay Project in 3 weeks.
