‘Conversations in Clay’ is an exciting exhibition displaying the work of 10 practicing ceramicists from across County Down.
Taking place at the Down Arts Centre, ‘Conversations in Clay’ explores the diversity of clay as a medium and celebrates the breadth of ceramic expression and skill of the makers, each working in their own personal, technical and individual way. Amongst the ceramics on display you can expect to find conversation pieces, pieces that tell a story, groupings of pieces that provoke conversation, tea sets and sharing platters, pieces that investigate methods of conversing, explorations of language, thought provoking pieces and mark making that conveys meaning.
The 10 participating ceramicists are Alison Hanvey, Tracey Johnston, John Martin, Aine McKenna, Charlene Rooney, Anna Smyth, Jakki Trainor, Eleanor Wheeler, Ellen Woods and Trevor Woods.
The exhibition opens on Thursday 1st August from 7-9pm, and will run until the 31st August at the Down Arts Centre. Open Monday-Friday from 10am-4.30pm.
