Brush Pen Calligraphy

Modern calligraphy is about lettering that has energy and flow – pressure and release of the brush creates the interesting contrast of thick and thin lines.

Suitable for beginners, this workshop is structured to encourage and build up your knowledge, step by step, as tutor Rosie Parkes demonstrates and gives one-to-one support. As brush pens come in all kinds of shapes and sizes, you will be able to try out lots of different types to discover which ones are right for you. Worksheets will guide you in how to combine strokes to form letters, then words and phrases.

You’ll spend time working on brush lettering templates and techniques like ‘blending’ and ‘bounce’. Before you know it, you’ll be creating greeting cards, party invitations and artworks for your home and to give as gifts.
