3 day Throwing Course
Wednesday 21st – Friday 23rd August
Tuition 9.30am – 12.30pm
Independent practice (optional) till 3pm.
This 3 day intensive course is aimed at developing throwing skills through focused teaching in a small group of up to 5 people. Each taught session is 3 hours with the option to continue working independently in the studio until 3pm.
Suitable for those with some throwing experience wanting to build on on their skills as well as learn new techniques.
Day 1 – Throwing, concentrating on throwing cylinders to develop consistency, throw taller and manage larger amounts of clay.
Day 2 – Throwing, preparing and recycling clay. How to create shape with intention.
Day 3 – Turning the previous 2 days work, making and attaching handles as well as simple decoration.
About Helen:
Helen Faulkner has been working as a potter for 14 years, focused mainly on throwing small batch production, making a range of tableware that is sold across the UK and Ireland as well as for TV and film production.
