The Blackheath Pottery Open Studio
About the event
For the month of August, you will be able to watch Babs working away on the wheel and able to ask questions about the pottery-making process. The porcelain tableware is used in the Blackheath cafe and from a ball of clay to the finished article, it never leaves the building.
Eating fresh bakes and drinking coffee from handcrafted porcelain wares is an experience in itself, being able to watch Babs just a step away from creating the very mug you are drinking from provides a connection from raw clay to a finished piece in a calm and peaceful environment.
The Blackheath Pottery is based within a converted Georgian Courtyard, the renovated stables now holds a cafe and working pottery divided by a large glass wall. A large mature garden is available for walks and listening to bird song.
