Sculpting a Horse Head from Clay at Gransha Equestrian Centre
About the event
Learn how to sculpt a horse’s head from clay at Gransha Equestrian Centre, with an opportunity to observe the horses and ponies on site.
This workshop takes place over 2 sessions, beginning with a full day 10-4pm on Monday 8th August followed by a final session to decorate with underglaze and oxides once fired on Monday 22nd August 10-2pm.
The first session will begin with a brief description of the anatomy of the horse head and neck, followed by a visit to the stables to feel for those bones and muscles, then back to the workshop to start work on your sculpture, a template will be provided for beginners.
During lunch break (please bring a packed lunch) there will be another opportunity to visit with the horses.
The final 2 hours will complete your sculpture.
The final session on Monday 22nd August will be used to decorate your fired sculpture.
