Introduction to Silver Clay Workshop
About the event
In this workshop, participants will use a variety of tools and techniques to design and make a piece of fine silver jewellery using Art Clay Silver. After completion, the pieces are fired in low light using a blow torch and then finished to bring a high shine to the finished work. Pieces are completed by adding necessary jump rings or plated silver earring wires.
Tea and coffee will be served while the pieces finalise their drying stage.

About the organiser
“Its amazing to see the designs go from wet clay to a fine silver piece you can wear home or gift after 2 to three hours of enjoyable activity in my Waterford studio.
I have done a million different things and share alot of skills through workshops, but this workshop never disappoints, it is like a day at a spa for lovers of craft. It is relaxing, rewarding, exciting – because of the blowtorch part!- and everyone goes home with something that they made which is finished, personal and beautiful. Participants often find designing the piece quite cathartic as the designs can reflect family, or loss or whatever is going on at the time. And the tea and bikkies in the middle with a chat is always welcome too!”
