Basket making with the Gorey Art Collective
About the event
Join Basketmaker Renate Wildenhof and learn different basket weaving techniques. All participants will take home a beautiful basket at the end of the course. Ranate has over 40 years experience making baskets and her work has been featured in both Film and TV. Tea and coffee will be provided.

The venue is upstairs, so not suitable for those who have movement impairments that do not allow them to walk upstairs. Toilets and a kitchenette available.

This event is part of Gorey Art Collective – August Activity Week
“Gorey Art Collective is delighted to offer a week of workshops from Basketry, Ceramics, Mosaic Making to Lino- and Needlepoint Print Making. All activities are taking place in the Art Collective’s studio upstairs in Trillium House, St Michael’s Place, Gorey. The week will culminate in an exhibition of works by Gorey Art Collective Studio Artists from Friday the 5th of August to Sunday the 7th of August.”
Renate: “I have been making baskets for most of my life. My passion is making with others and so I have spent over 40 years making baskets with adults of all abilities to make individual and useful work. Baskets I produced with my workshop team in Camphill Ballymoney, Co Wexford have featured over several years in the TV series Vikings and most recently on the movie The Northman.”
